Step Back in Time
Four Mile Historic Park is a gateway to Denver’s Western heritage, offering a vibrant 12-acre oasis with a working farm and Denver’s oldest standing structure, the Four Mile House Museum. The museum houses an extensive collection of mid-to-late 1800s Western artifacts, serving educational, historical, curatorial, and research purposes. Proudly acting as a custodian of cultural treasures, the museum evolves with contemporary approaches to artifact interaction, aspiring to be an immersive cultural attraction that goes beyond traditional museum settings. Visitors actively participate in a dynamic experience that brings history to life.
Things to Do:
- Take a tour of the historic Four Mile House Museum – open from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm (last tour starts at 2:30)
- Say hello to the Park’s resident critters. The Park is home to horses, goats, chickens, and pigs!
- Experience the Park’s Monthly Theme through crafts and special exhibits

Four Mile Mercantile
Four Mile offers a delightful mix of local and handmade items in the gift shop. Specialty handmade items are created exclusively for the Four Mile Mercantile by the volunteer blacksmithing and sewing guilds. The majority of products are from small businesses local to Colorado.
Your purchases support the programs and historic preservation at Four Mile Historic Park, a 501(c)(3) organization. Admission to the Mercantile, located in the visitor center, is always free—stop in and shop any time the Park is open!
